After a year of work, next Thursday 11th July we will premiere the short documentary film “Breathing new life into the Iberian Highlands”, directed by the award-winning French filmmaker Emmanuel Rondeau, from White Fox Pictures, and which is part of a documentary series produced by Rewilding Europe.
The complex process of transport and arrival of the first Przewalski’s horses to Villanueva de Alcorón is the starting point of the documentary, which shows unpublished images of this operation thanks to which the Iberian Highlands landscape is now the habitat of a unique herd of 28 Przewalski’s horses. The film also includes testimonies of people and organisations whose work makes possible the efforts of Rewilding Spain to recover ecological processes and to ensure that nature restoration can also drive positive impact on the local economy of the landscape.
Wildlife, nature restoration, collaborative work and entrepreneurship go hand in hand in this documentary, which shows spectacular images of the Iberian Highlands and helps to understand why rewilding has huge potential to improve the conditions of our environment and people’s lives.
We will celebrate the premiere with Iberian Highlands’ entities, associations and neighbours on Thursday 11 July in the Barranco de la Hoz (Ventosa-Corduente, Guadalajara).
