Naturtajo Nature Observation Tourism Fair will hold its second edition next June 13-15 in the village of Mazarete (Guadalajara) with the aim of highlighting the natural heritage of the Iberian Highlands as well as promoting nature tourism so that this activity contributes to the socio-economic revitalisation of the landscape.
As in its premiere in 2023, the second edition of Naturtajo will be held over the weekend with a full programme of activities, including stands of local organisations, institutions, producers and local ecotourism businesses; conferences by nature leading experts and disseminators, and nature activities open to the participation of the whole family.
Naturtajo 2025 is organised by Rewilding Spain and AECOMATS local ecotourism businesses organisation, in partnership with Castilla-La Mancha regional government and the support from Europarc España and Nuestros Espacios Protegidos.
Rewilding Spain’s team leader, Pablo Schapira, described Naturtajo as “a great example of the potential of nature in the Iberian Highlands to become a driver for socio-economic development. Our approach to rewilding involves that our work in bringing a wilder Spain back must have a positive impact on people. This partnership with so many stakeholders involved in Naturtajo shows that this is possible”.
Visitors in Naturtajo will have the opportunity to take part in conferences, book presentations, hiking activities and film exhibitions to be held in the surroundings of the natural grazing area in Solanillos mount, where tauros and Serrano semi-wild horses play an essential role in forest restoration and biodiversity enhancement.
