Tragacete will host the fourth edition of the Feria Rural de la Serranía, in June 20-22. The event is aimed at boosting the potential of the Serranía de Cuenca as a tourist destination thanks to the richness of its natural and cultural heritage.

Nature, traditions, meetings and handcrafts go hand in hand for the IV Serrania Rural Fair, which will be held in June 20 -22 in Tragacete (province of Cuenca) to keep boosting the potential of the Serranía de Cuenca for ecotourism and contribute to the socio-economic revitalisation of this territory. The event is organised by the Tragacete Town Council and Rewilding Spain, in partnership with Junta de Comunidades de Castilla-La Mancha and Diputación de Cuenca.
The programme gathers activities for all audiences, as well as several novelties. Among the new proposals, there are two conferences aimed at promoting knowledge about nature and the cultural heritage of the area. The young influencer Elvia La Rastreadora will talk about “The voice of nature” on Saturday 21 June, while the Esparvel group will focus on “The Uña cable and the unloading dock”, an infrastructure that highlights the importance of timber industry for the economy in the Serranía de Cuenca landscape.
It will also be possible to attend demonstrations of timber extraction, cutting and hauling, and a log peeling competition.
Nature cinema will also have its place, with the screening of the short film ‘Breathing new life into the Iberian Highlands’ and the film ‘Wilding. The return of nature’.
Nature lovers might particularly enjoy a guided route to get to know more about old-growth forests in El Vasallo state, as well as hiking in Peña del Halcón. It will also be possible to take part in workshops on necrophagous bird watching, pottery, wood, stargazing and wildlife tracking.
The programme of the IV Serrania Rural Fair is rounded off with music, theatre and a craft market.
